| Hanataro is very timid and somewhat clumsy. He also has very little self-confidence, being in the 4th Division (medical squad) and therefore often being teased about it and bullied. He is also easily fooled, and often tends to believe what others say. At times, Hanataro can be surprisingly brave. He doesn’t enjoy fighting, and tends to be very self-deprecating when he makes a mistake. Because he fights so infrequently, he also tends to constantly misplace his weapon, showing that he can be slightly forgetful at times. Despite all of this, he’s a very kind and gentle guy and often willing to do anything for his friends. Hanataro is also quite generous to those he cares about and believes in them no matter what. However, he is also seen by many as a pushover because of his nervous and timid nature, and some people do try to take advantage of his kind nature. |

| Hanataro has the power to heal others, athough it still isn’t perfect – it’s difficult for him to totally heal a large wound, but a small wound will heal over easily. If he uses his Zanpakuto sword Hisagomaru, he can heal injuries better, but as he rarely has Hisagomaru with him he doesn’t tend to do this often. |

History: Hanataro was an ordinary person in Soul Society. During his younger years he lived a relatively unremarkable existence, except from constant teasing and some bullying from others who believed him gullible. When he got older, he decided that what he wanted to do was be a Soul Reaper and join the Academy. The training was difficult at times, and Hanataro wasn’t very confident about actually passing. Luckily, with a lot of hard work, he did. Unfortunately, he ended up being placed in the medical squad, which lead to more bullying from the Soul Reapers in 11th Division. For a while, his existence continued the same way – healing, cleaning, doing odd jobs that the 11th Division didn’t want to do – until one day a boy named Ichigo Kurosaki came to Soul Society. Ichigo had come there to rescue Rukia, and ended up being chased by a group of the 11th Division’s Soul Reapers. Ichigo took Hanataro hostage, thinking that would stop them, but instead they just laughed at him and said they didn’t care. Instead of killing Hanataro, Ichigo and his companion Ganju decided to let Hanataro tag along. In the end, Hanataro proved to be a useful member of the team, eventually leading them to Rukia. After this little adventure was over, Hanataro went back to his ordinary life. However, it had become boring for him. He didn’t want to live here, in a place where he would end up doing the same thing all his life. It was time for a change, and this thought led him to the idea of going to Meillure Academy. It would be a new experience that would (hopefully) make him braver, and perhaps even improve his healing powers! Then it was settled. With the agreement of his Captain, Hanataro set off to Meillure Academy, ready to begin a new part of his life. |
